Half a Sixpence an 'unqualified success'!



York's main local newspaper, The Press, came to see Flying Ducks Youth Theatre's latest production and gave it a great review. Click here to read the review of Half a Sixpence. The group

Flying Ducks Youth Theatre is based in Haxby, York. The group performed its first production with a cast of 24 on 1 May 1996 at Haxby and Wigginton Methodist Church called Is That My Line?! and since then has built a reputation for lively and entertaining musical theatre. The group's last major production was four performances of Half a Sixpence in March 2010 at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York.

Flying Ducks Youth Theatre currently has a membership of 60 young people within the group. The aim of the group is to advance the education of young people between the ages of 11 and 18 in the appreciation and practice of drama and the performing arts, and also to support charities local to the York area.

The group has three patrons who are leading actors Berwick Kaler and Martin Barrass, and Oscar-nominated actress Janet McTeer.
